Chef Mark Kalix hails from Cleveland, Ohio and has lived in Denver for over 12 years. He attended The Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts in Pittsburgh in 1995, then moving to New York City to hone his cooking style in top rated restaurants in the city. Chef Mark has worked in restaurants, hotels and country clubs in Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. More recently he has transitioned to culinary education as a Chef Instructor at the prestigious Escoffier Institute of Culinary Arts in Boulder Colorado.
He works with both enthusiastic home cooks and budding professional chefs. He has a relaxed teaching style and focuses on having fun in the kitchen.
His food philosophy is to focus on fresh ingredients, prepared with proper technique to bring out the best in your food. Chef Mark’s charismatic and contagious personality adds a new level of entertainment and excitement to any party or event.
Chef Mark gives back to the community by donating his cooking experience and time to organizations like The Max Fund, Brent’s Place and Camp Wapiyapi to name a few.
When Chef Mark is not in the kitchen he can be found mountain biking, skiing, climbing and enjoying the great outdoors. He enjoys exploring the wide open west on road trips with friends and family.
